Wanna start with horror?

I went over to the reader's advisory bookmarks and the horror authors it lists are: V.C. Andrews, Kelley Armstrong, Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Douglas Clegg, Christopher Golden, Laurell K. Hamilton, Tanya Huff, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Richard Laymon, Bentley Lumley, Douglas Preston, Anne Rice, John Saul, John Shirley, Peter Staub, Whitley Strieber, F. Paul Wilson & Chelsea Quinn Yarbro.

I've read books by Anne Rice, mainly the Interview with a Vampire series, and enjoyed them. Does anyone have a recommedation?

Also, do you think the Twilight series is horror? It has vampires & werewolves, etc but it doesn't seem very horrific to me. Does a book need gore a la Stephen King's Carrie to be horror?

Can we pick a "light" horror novel? I am the biggest wimp ever. I generally try stay away from anything even remotely scary.

Horror's good by me. I don't really care where we start as long as we rotate through and touch on most of the major genres.

My understanding was we would each pick whatever book in the genre we were interested in reading. So, pick any horror book you like, Lindsey. :)
