Horror--Many Bloody Returns

Hey..I can't believe I'm the first one to post about their horror selection. I have to confess that I already had this book at home and planned to read it before we picked horror for January.

Many Blood Returns, edited by Charlaine Harris and Toni L.P. Kelner, is a collection of never before published short stories by prominent horror writers. All the stories share the same theme. I'll give you a hint, the tag line for the book is "Tales of Birthdays with Bite." My favorite is the first in the collection is called Dracula Night and was written by Charlaine Harris, one of my favorite authors. I guess it's no surprise then that I liked this story, which follows characters from her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series as they have a birthday bash for Dracula and actually hope that ole Vlad will grace their party with his presence. It funny, a little bit scary and a wonderful treat while I'm waiting for Sookie's next full-length adventure. The book also includes stories by Kelly Armstrong, Jim Butcher, P.N. Elrod, and many others. If you're just tipping your toe into the horror realm, this collection would be a great way for you to test the waters.

I picked up that book too and confess to only having read Charlaine Harris's story. I very much enjoy reading about Sookie Stackhouse's latest adventures and this one is a fun appetizer until the next full lenght one comes out:)
