Oscar Wilde and a Game Called Murder by Gyles Brandreth
This is the second book in Gyles Brandreth's Oscar Wilde mystery series, and it's a good one. The plot follows Oscar Wilde and his Dr. Watson-like sidekick Robert Sherard as they try and unravel a series of murders that are linked to an innocent parlor game. Brandreth delivers a fun read, full Wilde style wit, Holmes style sleuthing, and lots of potential suspects. Arthur Conan Doyle and Bram Stoker make appearances and add to the literary flavor of the book. Fans of Oscar Wilde and Sherlock Holmes will doubtless enjoy this book. It can also be recommended to people who enjoy historical mysteries. Other Victorian mystery writers include Emily Brightwell, Robin Paige and Anne Perry.
