This is the first of a series about single Christian girl Ashley Stockingdale, a patent attorney living in Silicon Valley. She's in a rut with no romantic prospects, and typical Bridget Jones-esque calamities ensue.
Much of time Ashley is pining over a man that she's evidently had ample opportunity to date but just now decided that she wants, after he's apparently gotten over her. There's a lot of soul-searching here, but I couldn't really relate to her thoughts and decisions. Not because of the Christian focus, but because I don't think she's very well-developed. Writing and story-wise I think it was just okay, although I got a little more into it at the end. I would rate it as a slightly below-average chick-lit book. A good beach read I guess, which is where I read it, so very appropriate. I would probably read the sequels if I wanted some mindless entertainment.
