JULY-Graphic Novel Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, Guilty Pleasures Volume 1

I read Guilty Pleasures, Volume 1 of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Obviously, the graphic novels are based on Hamilton’s series of novels featuring Anita Blake. Being a fan of the novels, I was really interested to see how the characters and the story would translate to a graphic novel. I love the graphic representation of the characters and think they’ve (there’s several artists) have done a great job capturing what the characters should look like. I have to say the story moves really fast and I had to go back a couple of times and re-examine what was going on or had just happened. I’m still getting the hang of reading a picture and drawing all the unwritten, but drawn, subtleties, which are unique to graphic novels. It’s really cool!
